The Automatic Cost Recovery Mechanism (ACRM) is an ERC-approved adjustment mechanism that allows the National Power Corporation (NPC) to more accurately reflect costs incurred from fuel, purchased power cost, and foreign exchange rate fluctuations.
It can be found at the back of your Meralco Bill under Generation and Government taxes. Learn more about your Meralco bill here.
In June 2018, MERALCO began implementing a recovery as ordered by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). The recovery covers costs incurred between March 2010 and December 2013 and is administered by the state-owned Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM).
The ACRM recovery applies to customers with existing contracts that were already active between March 2010 and December 2013.
The recovery rate per month is approximately 2.45 centavos per kWh, plus associated taxes, as coordinated with state-owned Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp (PSALM).
In accordance with the ERC’s Order, the implementation is for a period of over 60 months, starting February 2018.
